Our Founder

Cynthia began her career as a symphony musician, earning her bachelor's in music from University of Michigan and participating in both the Tanglewood and Aspen Festivals.  Then she took a long detour through the MBA program at the Sloan School of Management at MIT and several Silicon Valley tech firms including HP and Amazon.

She never stopped playing and eventually went back to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for a Master's in Music.

While there, she developed two things:  a real enjoyment of playing at special events (particularly weddings) and a broad network of highly qualified professional musicians.

She decided to combine those things with her deep business skills and Amore Strings was born!

For the last 7 years, Amore Strings has performed at venues throughout the Bay Area and wine country.

In addition to playing for events, Cynthia maintains an active symphonic and teaching career. She plays in numerous Bay Area orchestras, teaches at both public and private schools, coaches at several Bay Area youth orchestras and maintains an active private studio.

When not performing or teaching, Cynthia loves cooking, riding her ebike, scrolling dog videos on social media and spending time with her neighbors' little dog, Monte.
